Tracy joined the Popova Lab in 2013. With her expertise in molecular genetics, receptor mediated transcription factor gene regulation, and immunology, she has been working on multiple projects in the lab to study innate and adaptive immunity in BPD disease in neonatal lung. Besides work, she likes reading, running and traveling.
Ying-Jian Zhang, MD

Ying-Jian is a research lab technician. He received his medical degree at Xiangya Medical School in China. Before joining our lab, Ying-Jian worked with Dr. Segal at the Multiple Sclerosis Center, University of Michigan 2015-2019, and with Dr. Pietropaolo investigating type 1 diabetes between 2000-2014 at the University of Pittsburgh and University of Michigan.

Chase worked in the lab as a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. After graduation he moved to Germany to pursue doctoral training at Heidelberg University.
Alex Carson, BS
Alex worked in the lab as a research lab technician intermediate between 2020 and 2021.
Alex Brady, BS
Alex joined the lab shortly after graduating from the University of Michigan in 2018. He worked as a laboratory technician intermediate until August 2020. He presented our work at the Department of Pediatrics Annual Research Symposium in 2019. He is a graduate student in Immunology at the University of Pittsburg and Cornell University.
Christina Fulton, MD
Christina worked in the lab as a research lab technician intermediate between 2016 and 2018. She presented our work at Regional and National conferences. She left the lab to pursue her passion to help others in patient care setting.
Liza Rosenbloom, BS
Liza worked in the lab as an undergraduate research assistant during her senior year at the University of Michigan. She presented her project at the Department of Pediatrics Annual Research Symposium in May 2019 and received the Undergraduate Student Research Award.
Bhargavi Maheshwer, MD
Bhargavi worked in the lab as an undergraduate research assistant during her junior and senior year at the University of Michigan. After graduation, she attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and is currently a resident in Orthopedic Surgery at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Michelle Richardson, BS
Michelle was the first research lab technician in the Popova lab. She left the lab to move to Germany.
